Zuzana Kubovčáková Received the Muni Scientist 2025 Award
On 8th December Zuzana Kubovčáková received the Muni Scientist Award for her research.
On March 17, two screenings of the film Airi took place at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University, accompanied by discussions with the film’s director, Yoh Kawano. The short documentary presented the story of a Japanese student, Airi, from Fukushima Prefecture, whose childhood and later life were affected by the major earthquake in 2011 and the subsequent Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster.
The core of the film was an interview with her father, in which they address this trauma for the first time.
The film strongly resonated with the audience, mostly consisting of MUNI students, and the discussion repeatedly highlighted the power of personal stories in shaping our understanding of significant events, offering a perspective different from that of conventional news coverage.
We thank for the screening, and look forward to more events like this.
