The Japan Studies Seminar held two international conferences in years 2015 and 2017 under the name Iaponica Brunensia. Although the history of our confereces is not long, we were able to invite not only Japanese studies specialists from central Europe but we also had participants from Japan or USA.
The topics of the conferences were "Japan as Text" (2015) and "Japan: Place and Space" (2017) and we saw a number of fascinating presentations whose outlines you can see in the conference programmes that are available here for Iaponica Brunensia 2015 and for Iaponica Brunensia 2017.
Encouraged by positive feedback and having learned from the experience of organizing the past conferences, we are looking forwards to accomodating other similar productive and inspiring meetings in the future.
