Many phenomena of Japanese grammar are considered specific for the language. Some of them, including the subject/theme/rheme marking, the direct object marking and the phenomenon of gradable transitivity of the Japanese verbal elements are going to be explained in terms of the Japanese morphological declension paradigm.
