The Department of Japanese Studies is organizing an online lecture on the historical transformations of the perception of Christians in pre-modern Japan. The lecture is titled "From 'barbarians' to 'wicked': the perception of Christian religion in Early Modern Japan" and will be presented by Dario Andrés Menache (M.A.) from Kyoto University (京都大学). The lecture will be conducted in English.

The speaker comes from Argentina, graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, and Kyoto University, where he obtained a Master Degree in Letters. Currently, he is pursuing a doctoral degree. In addition to his academic pursuits, he works as a translator, a Japanese language teacher, and externally as a research fellow at Otani University.
