On the 26th September the Department of Japanese Studies took part in the Researchers' Night. This year's 20th edition of the event was organised under the topic of Richness. The visitors could at three interactive stations learn many interesting facts about the richness of Japanese regional cuisines, learn how to write the word richness in Chinese characters, test their knowledge in an electronic quiz or find out why it is a good omen if you dream on the New Year about mt. Fuji, a hawk or an eggplant.

The event was organised jointly by the professors and student volunteers and the evening concluded with a competetion in drawing maneki-neko, the "inviting cat", a symbol of wealth. Despite the rainy weather the programme attracted many visitors.
