Prof. Jabłoński and his lecture A word, a word form and paradigmatic relations in Japanese

Between the 7th and 9th of May, we were honored to host professor Arkadiusz Jabłoński from Adam Miciewicz university in Poznan, Poland. He visited brno on the basis of a academic staff exchange program and presented three lectures from the area of Japanese language and linguistics to our students.

As a linguist, professor Jabłoński primarily focuses on the functioning of substantives in the system of modern Japanese. In his lectures, he touched upon his original conception of japanese substantives and particles, but foremostly, he demonstrated the necessity of approaching the descriptions of the japanese language system critically. At the same time, he showed us an inspiring example of viewing the japanese grammar through the experience with slavic languages.
